Now anybody with a smartphone or tablet and scan ids with their device camera and our app.
A complete device offering the fastest and most accurate scanning method, an added plus is the device is not someone's phone and can remain at point of use.
Both iOS and Android app versions offer the same functionality and look very similiar

Turn the id so the bar code on the back is visible and align the barcode horizontally along the flashing red line on the device screen.
Once the software successfully reads the bar code, it will display the patorns name and age at the bottom of the screen.
Additionally a short beep sound will be played for valid ids, and the name bar will be green in color, for those ids that are not valid, a banned patorns or underage (as defined by you in the software settings) a series of alternating tones will sound, and the name bar will be red in color.
TIP! The software tries to auto-focus the image, but sometimes moving the image closer or farther away from the device will result in barcode capture. Also, lower light conditions make it harder for the software to pickout the bar code details, move to better light conditions when possible, and watch the screen for reflections off the id
Scan Details
Full scan details can be displyed while camera scanning by tapping the name bar, if using the DS2278 or one of our all in one devices, successfull scans will always go to the scan details view.
The scan details view displays full information about the patron. Name, address, date of birth, and id expiration date are all displayed within this view.
Additionally, the patrons age and id status will be display in a colored coded bar for quick identification of status.
Scan History
Your scan history for a device is always available for viewing or exporting via the Scan history list.
In the scan list you can see a patrons name, age, gender, date of scan, and the status of the id. To view more detailed information about a scan just tap on the item in the list and the scan details page will be dispalyed.
From the scan history an export of all the scans on the device can be done. Exports are in CSV format, which easily imports into Microsoft Excel and many database programs.

Multi-Scan/Passback Alerting
Alert if the same id is scanned within the configured period of time. This feature is useful in preventing a friend from passing an id to someone else after using it to enter a venue.
Other uses include limiting how often a patron can purchase alcohol. For example a festival that only allows a patron to purchase alcohol once an hour could use this to be alerted when a person has not waited the proper time between purchases.
Alert periods from 1 minute to several days can be configured.
Alerting can be configured to only use scans on the current device (local), or all scans from all devices registered to the venue (networked). Wifi connectivity and saving records to the cloud must be enabled for networked multi-scan.
Other Features
*A Wifi connection is needed for this feature to be effective across more than 1 device.
*Some features such as Mulitscan require scans be stored.
Additionally the software can be configured to not display any personal information to the employee performing scans for those venues that require privacy, but still want a record of identification scanning.
